Dolce & Gabanna Fall/Winter 2013/2014 RTW
I decided to play dress up in my great grandmother’s slip and shawl. I felt like a fairy tale, and my heart is pounding as I make this post. It’s not often you get to feel like something you read in a book come to life. I could cry over how beautiful and special this post and outfit means to me. I’ll just keep letting the photos speak for themselves…Read More/More Photos
holy shit, jess
2. What was the first movie you ever remember watching in theaters?
I grew up a few miles away from a drive-in theater, and know that I spent almost every Summer from infancy until they shut it down wrapped up in a blanket on the gravel, listening to the movie through the cracked windows of our Chrysler. The earliest film I can remember seeing there was Disney’s Snow White during what was either a theatrical re-release or an illegal showing. I don’t remember sitting in a real theater until The Lion King, when I was 7 years old.
5. A favorite adapted movie
Already answered :)
35. A movie you wished they never made
The remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010). I mean, for fuck’s sake, they wrote in victim blaming as a plot twist. Just, no.
5. A favorite adapted movie
The first film that popped into my head was Pet Sematary (Directed by Mary Lambert, Co-Starring Fred Gwynne, and the best Stephen King cameo of all time). And even though I can go on for days about its lack of Tom Bombadil and Goldberry, the adaptation of LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring is pretty wonderful.
13. Top 5 actresses
5 Centimeters per Second
34. Favorite fictional character
Eowyn, alias Dernhelm, the White Lady of Rohan. I’ve been planning to get a variation of this tattooed on me for a few years now.
8. An overrated movie
Avatar. Google “Why Avatar is racist” or “Avatar White Savior” and that should fill in all of the necessary blanks.
9. An underrated movie
The Friday the 13th remake. People wanted a gritty, hardcore slasher Jason movie and instead they got a horror-comedy. When viewed with big hopes for taking the Voorhees legend in a new direction, it’s bound to be a disappointment; when viewed as a high-larious stoner comedy with explicitly funny gore, it’s kind of perfect.
15. Favorite Disney movie (not PIXAR!)
Easy. The Aristocats.
19. Favorite quote from a movie
Previously answered!
23. Favorite Science Fiction movie
2001: A Space Odyssey
24. Favorite Comedy
Death to Smoochy. Also my original answer for #9. Robin Williams as a washed-up, demented kids’ entertainment superstar + Edward Norton as a holy vegan Barney knock-off + Catherine Keener as a sexy network executive + Jon Stewart in one of his only film acting credits = Pure Heaven
